Eileen Shields' shoes have been described by British Vogue as "delectable ... that rarest of things: high concept, yet completely unpretentious." Shields' 'edgy but beautiful' design philosophy melds sensuous silhouettes - where luxury and feel mean everything - with an eclecticism that sees flats, platforms, heels, and boots sumptuously rendered in key combinations of materials and colors. Eileen Shields footwear is for the intelligent, stylish woman who loves craftsmanship with modern sensibility.

Born in New York, Eileen Shields grew up in Ireland and, after graduating from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, worked for Donna Karan International in New York for over a decade. She launched the EILEEN SHIELDS label in September 2004, sold in over 60 stores globally. Shields also collaborated with Maria Cornejo, producing the footwear collection for Zero+Maria Cornejo.

Counting Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore and Halle Berry among her many customers, Shields was also commissioned to custom-make shoes for Eva Longoria for 'Desperate Housewives', and had her shoes featured in the 'Sex and the City' movies. Shields' most rewarding moments, however, are walking past strangers on the street wearing shoes from her collection!

Shields won the Irish Tatler International Woman of the Year Award and in 2009 was a finalist in the Fashion Group International New York - Rising Star Awards for Accessories.

Shields returned to Donna Karan for several years in 2012, as VP of Footwear Design and now once again has opened her own studio in the East Village NYC, working on newly engineered constructions using the direct-to-consumer model.
